Surely most of us have very fond memories of the humble advent calendar. In my day they were simple affairs, with just a little piece of chocolate inside each door if you were lucky. Mostly a small pretty picture was enough to get you in the festive spirit and all geared up for Christmas. My how times have changed! This year’s Lego City advent calendar has an interesting theme to it. Yes there’s a Santa, a Christmas tree and other Christmassy paraphernalia but the overriding theme this year is the City’s police continuing battle against thieves and robbers! Ahh, the spirit of Christmas! I don’t suppose your children will mind. Any kind of chase game is always welcome and now the police men in their police car can chase the robbers on their snowmobiles. And once they’ve caught the baddies it’s off to gaol in the Lego police station. Merry Christmas!
Of course this is the great thing about the Lego City advent calendars, the Christmas toys inside aren’t just for Christmas. Your Lego loving children will add all the mini figures, vehicles and new buildings to their other Lego sets and new games and adventures will continue to take place all year. Lego never seems to go out of fashion and long may they continue to make these great advent calendars. Remember that many of the pieces are quite small so these Lego advent calendars are only suitable for children over 3.
