Nerf Magstrike AS-10 Toy Gun Review
The Magstrike AS-10 does not have a reputation as a particularly accurate weapon, but makes up for that with its rapid fire system. It has a ten dart capacity which uses Whistler Micro Darts which as the name implies whistle when fired at medium to long ranges, it comes packaged with one clip and ten darts. It measures 1 ft, 9.5 inches and weighs just over 2.2 pounds.
Ideally best used tactically as blitz attack weapon, fired once to take out several opponents, replaced by another blaster for further firing, with reloading and air pumping being saved for a lull in the battle as reloading is reported as problematic. It is strategically best suited as an ambush and position holding weapon.
The design prevents the jamming problems reported by the Nerf Hornet and Deploy, but the clip design has been known to create a situation where the clip sometimes falls back into the blaster after shots have been filed (it is supposed to raise up as each round is fired) causing air blasts to be wasted on empty chambers. Some minor modification with a bit of duct tape on the side of the clips has been reported as making the fit more snug and this problem less prone to occur. The clip size is large in this blaster as well, which can make storing extra rounds on one’s person during battle an issue. The pumping handle is sturdy unlike that reported on the Nerf AS-20 Rapid Fire rifle.
Nerf Magstrike AS-10 Rapid Fire
The Magstrikes has a superior rate of fire – among the best of all Nerf blaster products and is able to fire 8 to ten darts per second. It has a wide firing range, measuring between 20 to forty feet in straight fire. Pulling the trigger and immediately letting it goes allows for only 2 or three darts to be shot out at once, which allows the gun to be used for more extended fire. If a user keeps their finger on the trigger, the entire ten dart clip will be deployed at once.
Great initial cost for a sturdy toy gun that is perfect as a secondary weapon, the MSRP on this is around $20 and we have found that Amazon usually offer a good deal. Check stock availability and prices by clicking on the “Click Here For More Info” button below.
