The Rory’s Story Cubes game has been on Amazons bestseller list for most of the year and simply has to be the first game in your Christmas toy stocking this holiday season. Like all great games it’s incredibly simple but hugely entertaining and very creative. How Do you Play Rorys Story Cubes?
The simple answer is…any way you want. With the Story Cubes Game you have 9 dice; each has 6 recognizable images on its sides. Roll the story cubes and make a story…that’s it! Or roll 3 of the dice and make a story. Or roll all of the dice, start a story, pass the dice to the person next to you who rolls the dice and continues the story…and so on. Or sit on your own, roll as many dice as you like and make up the craziest story ever! The point is this game is not about winning or being right, it’s about imagination and surely Tommy’s Toys doesn’t need to tell you how important that is for all of us, kids and grownups alike.
I especially like this as a Christmas game. No need to wade through complicated instructions while the kids get frustrated. Just sit round together and have fun making up a special Christmas story. Children, who may at first be daunted by the idea of creating a story, will soon see how easy it is and come out of their shells once they see and hear others. And what about a game just between grownups? A nice meal, a few drinks and Rory’s Story Cubes? Hilarious.
Seriously though, Rorys Story Cubes is a wonderful educational game for children. Its dirt cheap and you can take it with you as a portable travel game. Kids can play this together or on their own, can use it to find inspiration for creative school work and it will improve their imagination no end. BUY IT!
