This clever Vtech Sit-to-Stand Learning Walker will grow with your baby: the front panel comes off for tummy time and sitting-up play when baby is little, and then attaches back easily to the walking frame to help when baby learns to stand up and walk – a great two-in-one from a very respected toy maker.
The Vtech Sit-to-Stand Learning Walker is a constant favorite in the Amazon top twenty baby and toddler toys and you can easily see why. There are simply tons of fun activities and learning opportunities incorporated into this walker that will keep your baby both entertained and meet his developmental needs as he grows.
The Vtech Sit to Stand Review
This Vtech toy actually comes in two parts. Firstly, there is the walking frame section with robust wheels and a sturdy handle for your toddling baby can hold onto and push forward helping him get more and more stable on his feet. Secondly, there is the activity panel, which easily detaches from the walker frame so that baby can play with it either when lying on his tummy or when sitting up to it. So, whilst the toy is marketed for ages 9+ months, in actual fact most babies will also get plenty of use of it from a younger age.
The activity panel is where all the seriously fun action takes place. It is jam-packed with stuff to do! There is a five key piano that play different musical notes and numbers one to five; a ringing telephone handset; three shape sorter slots with types of fruit that light up; a cow that moos; a barnyard door that opens to reveal ducks behind it; three gear wheels to spin with insects on them. On the main walker frame there are also a further three spinning rollers that make rattle noises.
Vtech Sit to Stand Activity Walker – The Activities
The Vtech Sit-to-Stand Learning Walker’s activity panel encourages actions such as pushing, opening and closing, shape sorting, picking up the telephone handset, twirling the gear wheels and spinning the rollers and this will all feed into improving your baby’s fine motor skills, and develop his reasoning and logic. And by interacting with your baby on the activity panel, you can help him learn about colours, numbers, sounds, animals, and shapes.
So, all in all, not your average walker! One thing that lets it down, however: the walking frame does not have any brakes or wheel lock function, so you will need to make sure that baby is supervised when using it for walking and standing. It’s a shame that this one thing hasn’t been thought through, because otherwise this Vtech Sit-to-Stand Learning Walker top toy would certainly score top marks.
